Editors who know the science

A pharmacology paper goes to an editor with a background in pharmacology or biomedicine, not to a generalist. That keeps the technical terms, reporting conventions, and the way arguments are built in your field intact.

  • Every editor holds a PhD
  • Your data, results, and claims stay unchanged
  • Your manuscript is kept confidential
About TextGuild

How it works

Four steps from draft to a manuscript ready for submission.

  1. Send your manuscript

Upload your file with your target journal, preferred English (US or UK), and deadline.

  2. Editor matching

We assign the editor whose PhD background is closest to your topic.

  3. Editing

Your editor corrects grammar, clarity, and field terminology, and comments on anything ambiguous.

  4. Manuscript returned

You receive a tracked-changes file, a clean copy, and an editing certificate.

A certificate journals can check

Every certificate has a unique number and QR code. Journal editors can check it on our verification page, and confirm that the manuscript they received is the same file we edited.

The certificate states that the language of the manuscript was edited by TextGuild. It does not assess the scientific content or guarantee acceptance.

Common questions

Anything else? Send your question with your manuscript when you request a quote.

Is my manuscript kept confidential?

Yes. Your manuscript is read only by the assigned editor, is not shared with anyone else, and is not used for any purpose other than editing.

Will the editor change the science in my manuscript?

No. We edit the language, not your data, results, or scientific claims. Where the meaning of a passage is ambiguous, the editor leaves a comment so that you decide.

How long does editing take?

It depends on the length of the manuscript and whether you choose standard or express turnaround. Every quote includes an estimated delivery time before you decide.

Which file formats do you accept?

We accept Word (.docx) and LaTeX. Other formats, such as PDF, can be discussed when you request a quote.

Do all journals accept this certificate?

Some journals ask for proof of language editing and some do not. TextGuild certificates can be verified online, so journal editors can confirm they are genuine. The decision to accept a manuscript always rests with the journal.

Should I choose US or UK English?

Follow the style your target journal asks for. If the journal does not specify, choose either one and your editor will apply it consistently throughout.
