TextGuild grew out of a habit among fellow researchers: reading a colleague’s manuscript one more time before it went to a journal. That habit gave us the principle we still work by. A scientific manuscript is best edited by someone who understands the science, not only the language.
Our editors
Every TextGuild editor holds a PhD and edits manuscripts close to their own expertise. A pharmacology paper goes to an editor with a background in pharmacology or biomedicine, not to a generalist. That keeps the technical terms, reporting conventions, and the way arguments are built in your field intact.
What we change, and what we don’t
We correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence clarity, flow between paragraphs, and consistency of terms. We do not change your data, results, or scientific claims, and we do not write new content on your behalf. Where the meaning of a passage is ambiguous, the editor leaves a comment so that you decide.
Confidentiality
An unpublished manuscript represents years of work. Your manuscript is read only by the assigned editor, is not shared with anyone else, and is not used for any purpose other than editing.
